How evening videos became a way to slow thoughts down

I’ve noticed something lately — I don’t even choose videos for entertainment in the evening anymore. It’s more like I’m trying to slow my thoughts down after a long day. Fast content just makes my head feel noisier, so I avoid it without even thinking. Do you think this shift is about attention span changing, or just needing a calmer ending to the day?

For me it’s definitely about ending the day on a different rhythm. I used to jump between random

videos at night, but it left me feeling oddly restless. Now I intentionally pick slower, simpler content, and it feels like my mind finally gets space to settle. It’s not even about what I’m watching specifically — it’s the pace that matters. When everything moves gently, my thoughts stop racing as much. It’s like the video sets a background tempo for your brain, and you just naturally fall into it.
